Transfer window is closed!

31-01-2019 | During the pause in league football, manager and directors had some time to get some new players to play in the second half of the game. Damien van Dijk didn’t had a lot of money to throw around so he set his sights on some youngsters. First he picked up Austrian Mike Peier. The 16 year old has a lot of potential as a defensive midfielder. Van Dijk hopes Peier can develop nicely and in some years can contribute to the success of Austria Klagenfurt.

A few weeks later Damien van Dijk signed his second youngster of this transfer window. Belgian winger Patrice de Ridder will continue his development at Austria Klagenfurt. The 17-year old is very determined and thinks he can develop quickly enough to challenge the current starting players for their position.

At the end of the transfer window Austria Klagenfurt let some players go. Giorgos Karasavvidis left on a free to SV Austria Salzburg. Alexander Killar changed clubs and will now be playing for Sankt Polten. Ukrainian football club Tavria will take Valeriy Timchenko on loan until the end of the season.

28-02-2019 | After a month off for the players, they returned to their clubs to play come friendlies. SK Austria Klagenfurt had a full schedule and played 7 matches in one month. The results are listed below:

The league continues!

01-03-2019 | Finally the wait is over! The first matches of the second half of the season have been played. Wiener Neustadt played SK Austria Klagenfurt in a very dull game. Neither of the teams created big chances and the game ended as it started, 0-0.


FC BW Linz is no match for Austria Klagenfurt

05-03-2019 | This midweeks match between Austria Klagenfurt was really one-sided. Austria Klagenfurt was in complete control during the match. Their efforts were soon rewarded. In the 27th minute Sandro Zakany got the ball inside the box and slammed it right in the net via the crossbar. The second goal from Austria Klagenfurt, or should I say it was from BW Linz, came from a cross from Holly Tshimanga which was scored by BW Linz’s defender Bernhard Kotynski. Austria Klagenfurt kept control over the game, but after a big fault of Mladen Jutric, Jefté Betancort took his chance and scored. After that BW Linz started to come back in the match, but luckily for Austria Klagenfurt Markus Rusek scored with his head after a corner.


Dull game is won in the dying minutes

08-03-2019 | Austria Klagenfurt came to the Sportplatz Wiessengasse B with a heavily rotated team, because of the midweek game against FC BW Linz. The game didn’t saw a lot of chances, but just a few long shots. Austria Klagenfurt kept trying to create chances and their efforts saw Dirk Mohr scoring after a nice attack.


Simple win from Austria Klagenfurt

12-03-2019 | Austria Lustenau tried everything tonight against Austria Klagenfurt. Too bad for them Austria Klagenfurt was playing what seemed their best match of the season. The only thing Austria Klagenfurt could have done better is scoring in the first half. The 0-0 score halfway could have given Austria Lustenau some hope for the second half. But in the 61st minute that hope was laid to rest. Sasa Lazic scored a screamer from around 20 yards. Just 3 minutes later Austria Klagenfurt doubled their lead when Maximiliano Moreira stood at the end of a nice attack. The rest of the match Austria Klagenfurt tried to extend their lead, but weren’t able to score anymore.


Early penalty saves a draw for Austria Klagenfurt

15-03-2018 | The game started well for Austria Klagenfurt. After just 6 minutes the referee pointed to the spot when Holly Tshimanga was tackled on the edge of the box. Slobodan Mihajlovic sent the keeper the wrong way. It looked like Austria Klagenfurt was done after that goal. They were just playing around and not creating anything. This gave WSG Wattens the opporunity to take control and try to create some chances for themselves. Their goal cane wel into the second half. A corner was taken and crossed inside the penalty area, headed down by Daniel Spinn and the equalizer came from David Gugganig. A well deserved draw and maybe WSG Wattens were entitled of something more.


No winner in boring game

29-03-2019 | After the international break Austria Klagenfurt took on Kapfenberger away at the Franz-Fekete-Stadion. There were some shots on goal, but neither of the teams showed that they wanted to take the win. Nothing else can of should be said about this game, which ended in a boring goalless draw.


Austria Klagenfurt keep on winning

05-04-2019 | It was a rainy evening when SV Horn took on Austria Klagenfurt. Both sides created multiple chances, but weren’t able to open the scoreline. It took a free-kick to give Austria Klagenfurt the lead in this match. A beautiful shot from Mladen Jutric from 25 yards saw it landing in the left corner of the goal just after the second half started. The rest of the game want from left ot right where both teams trying to score. They both couldn’t find the net and the match ended in 1-0 in favor of Austria Klagenfurt.


Liefering snatch thrilling draw at Austria Klagenfurt

12-04-2019 | This mid-table clash between Liefering and Austria Klagenfurt was a guarantee for a great night of football. Both teams were evenly matched and this was shown by the way the match flowed up and down. The first goal of the match was scored in the 19th minute. Dirk Mohr got the ball just outside the penalty area and he hammered it right into the back of the net. Liefering did something back around 10 minutes later. After a very weird free kick routine David Schnegg came eye to eye with Austria Klagenfurt’s goalkeeper, played the ball around him and buried it in the net. The rest of the match went back and forth, but no goals were scored anymore.
