Our second season in the Erste Liga started with a win. We’ll try to get promoted this year, but do we have what it takes?

12-08-2019 | After signing on 19-07-2018, Heimer Adomat has already left Austria Klagenfurt. He will continue his career at the German club Freiburg, who is playing in the German Bundesliga. Adomat told the press: “I’m sorry to leave so soon and I want to thank the manager for his believe in me. But this, was an offer I couldn’t refuse. I wish Austria Klagenfurt all the best.”. Damien van Dijk was very disappointed, but understand the decision of his youngster. Heimer Adomat will change clubs for a amount of €775.000.
Simple win for Austria Klagenfurt
16-08-2019 | Kapfenberger didn’t have the best of starts this season. They tried to better their start by winning from Austria Klagenfurt. But Austria Klagenfurt wasn’t having none of it. They didn’t let Kapfenberger anywhere near their goal. Also Austria Klagenfurt didn’t create much, but they took the lead in the 35 minute. Markus Rusek took a shot which deflected of the defender right into the feet of Sasa Lazic, who put it in the back of the net. The rest of the match was controlled by Austria Klagenfurt, but there weren’t any goals to mention.
One defender leaves, another one comes
22-08-2019 | Yesterday we heard that Marc Ortner of Austria Lagenfurt will leave the club and go to Austria Lustenau for an amount of €950.000. Marc Ortner wanted more first team football and due to the new signings in the last few weeks he feared for his place in the starting eleven. He asked to leave and Lustenau swooped in.
Today we got the news that Austria Klagenfurt already had signed a replacement for Ortner. The 33-year old experienced right back Andreas Dober has signed a 4-year deal with the Austrian club with an option to become a staff member. According to Damien van Dijk Andreas Dober will be a string leader in the defence and he can help the younger players with his experience.
Clinical win by Austria Klagenfurt
23-08-2019 | Another simple win by Austria Klagenfurt tonight. Just by creating many chances they won the match from Liefering. In the 27th minute Rob Hall scored a screamer from around 30 yards. In the 33rd minute Austria Klagenfurt was awarded a penalty when Scott Kennedy was pushed inside the box. Markus Rusek slotted it into the back of the net. In the second half Austria Klagenfurt kept on creating chances and it resulted in a third goal by Christopher Zeh. He scored with a volley from the edge of the box.
Another defender for Austria Klagenfurt
27-08-2019 | When we thought Austria Klagenfurt were done signing defenders, the 22-year old Austrian Fabian Gmeiner has signed a 4-year contract with the Erste Liga club. His contract was not renewed at Hamburger SV and due to his time in the Netherlands at NEC, was keen to play under a Dutch manager.
Big win keeps Austria Klagenfurt at the top
30-08-2019 | After promoting to the Erste Liga, SC Karlsdorf is trying to stay up this year. They didn’t do a good job against Austria Klagenfurt. Within 5 minutes they were already 2-0 down when Christopher Cvetko scored after a nice rush and Patrice de Ridder scored with the head after a cross. The second half started the same way. Just two minutes in and the score went up to 3-0. Christopher Cvetko got a brace after heading in a corner. The 4th goal was scored by Benedikt Pichler when he scored from a cross. Austria Klagenfurt scored again in the 73 minute with a nice shot from 25 yards out.
Lots of transfers on deadline day
31-08-2019 | Just when you think the transfer window is closed and no late transfers will be made, Austria Klagenfurt released a press statement in which they announced 4 transfers. First there is the departure of Benedikt Pichler to Liefering. He switches clubs for a sum of €1.500.000.
The other news are three new signings. The following players join Austria Klagenfurt for the new season: Florian Fellinger, Issouf Macalou and Marko Stankovic.
Florian Fellinger is an 23 year old central defender who comes in from ASKÖ Oedt as a backup for the first team. The Austrian signs a 4-year deal.
Because Pichler left, Van Dijk needed to fill his spot on the left wing. He filled it with Ivorian Issouf Macalou. The 20-year old left winger comes from the French Sochaux for €115.000 and also signs a 4-year contract.
The last player is Marko Stankovic. He was signed on a free after he didn’t renew his contract with FC Pune City in India. He wanted to come back to Austria and has found a place in the squad of Damien van Dijk. The 33-year old central midfielder will be an important player for Austria Klagenfurt and that is why he signed a 4-year deal with a option to become a staff member after retiring.
